Portland Community College Students4Giving was created in 2007 to educate and inspire a generation of engaged citizens, philanthropists, and community leaders. Student philanthropy programs are rare at community colleges, but our success has proven the power of giving voice to urban community college students from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and life experiences. Students4Giving became a Learning by Giving Foundation partner in 2016.
The S4G program should be on every college campus. The real life material and hands on accounting was an amazing way to learn and connect with the community. I still use resources to research nonprofits today. It made me more aware both as a volunteer and donor. The Students4Giving program is making more conscious citizens out of its students and for that, thank you!
This class was a fantastic experience! A great opportunity for experiential learning--navigating that balance between evidence based decision making and that human connection that inspires us to give. I recommend it for all PCC students! --Shabab (class of 2013)
